A Control Valve Dynamic Performance Evaluation consists of the following:

Determine which control valves in the selected area
will have the biggest impact on the process

Perform open loop bump tests using high speed,
high-resolution data acquisition equipment connected to the field instrumentation I/O
-
Analyse the open loop bump test data to determine control valve
dynamic non-linearities, such as backlash, stiction, variable deadtime, etc.

Prepare a report documenting the valve performance and
recommending which valves should be repaired or replaced
